Joseph's Take
The photo here isn't perfect. Midnight Flare is truly a special Azalea if you like red. The flower color is actually a very deep maroon type red, one that I have never seen in another plant, paint color, or really anywhere else. I will photograph this one in the spring and put on our facebook page, its my absolute favorite!!

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Azalea, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, or Camellia as they all prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting these varieties.
