As I writing these descriptions, Im wondering how it would be to mix all three Lil' Kim® as a short hedge along a fence. I've got the perfect spot!
If you love hardy hibiscus--also known as Rose of Sharon--but don't have room for the standard shrub, which usually reaches 8 feet tall, consider the Lil' Kim® Proven Winners series hibiscus. The Lil' Kim® series has the stunning flowers, in three color options, minus the invasive seeds, and is well-behaved in a small garden, reaching three to four feet tall and wide slowly. Lil' Kim® standard hibiscus sports white flowers up to 3 inches across with a red center. Lovely as a centerpiece in a summer container. Deciduous, deer resistant, attractive to butterflies.
Hibiscus syriacus makes for good tea and food, among other usages such as cordage or medicine. There is information readily available for this species, as well as recipes. Please do your own research, and consume or use at your own risk. Expect mucilage from this okra relative.
