Hibiscus syriacus 'SHIMRV24' USPP 26,374; CBRAF

If you love hardy hibiscus--also known as Rose of Sharon--but don't have room for the standard shrub, which usually reaches 8 feet tall, consider the Lil' Kim® Proven Winners series hibiscus. The Lil' Kim® series has the stunning flowers, in three color options, minus the invasive seeds, and is well-behaved in a small garden, reaching three to four feet tall and wide slowly. Lil' Kim® Violet has lovely violet flowers with a red center. Deciduous, deer resistant, and a butterfly magnet! Good in containers.

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

Growing up my grandmother has lots of Rose of Sharon as these were called back then. They were heavy in the seed category therefore spreading all over the yard. These new refined Rose of Sharon do not spread in the invasive way that old varieties did.  Plus, the flowers are much prettier and have more interest. Very nice!

As I writing these descriptions, Im wondering how it would be to mix all three Lil' Kim® as a short hedge along a fence. I've got the perfect spot!
