Probably one of the most versatile in terms of growing temperament, the Crimson Doll Lilac can grow in nearly every part of the USA which makes lilacs in general a very desirable plant to feature in any garden. Hardy to hot summers and cold winters, it will grow strongly requiring little maintenance on your part. It grows with a rounded habit carrying large clusters of vibrantly fragrant blooms amongst its lovely, glossy, heart shaped leaves. Dependably blooming in the spring with occasional reblooming in the summer, its buds start out as a light rosy-burgundy which open to a blushed reddish pink and later mature into a heavenly bright pink. Not only will you notice its wonderful crimson and ruby-rose undertones, its fragrant aroma will circulate your garden illuminating your senses throughout the warmer seasons. Unlike the more common, classic lilac bush which reaches an unmanageable height, the Crimson Doll only reaches around 4 ft when it matures and can always be pruned to size and preference. What is great about this is that it will stay smaller in your garden without the chance of taking over any surrounding plants. It does the best in direct sunlight and our recommendation is to use it in highly trafficked areas such as near an entrance or along a path to fully enjoy its enchanting welcome.
