Camellia japonica 'Seafoam'

Seafoam Camellia has numerous large, white flowers late winter through spring; complemented by its year round lustrous, glossy, deep-green foliage. In peak bloom, the abundance of buds and flowers almost hide its foliage. Seafoam grows to be a large specimen, has large formal blooms, and makes a very strong tall hedge in warm locations.

Joseph's Take

Seafoam Camellia is similar to Pink Perfection in that both grow consistently thick and are problem free. Both shrubs have very formal double blooms. I recommend both and wonder what a full grown hedge would look like if the pink and white were alternated to create the mixing of flower colors each spring.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
