Gardenia jasminoides 'Double Mint' PP23,507

The 'Double Mint' Gardenia is one of the profuse bloomers of the gardenia family. It has a dense growth pattern with wonderfully fragrant, 2 inch size blooms. Double-petaled white blooms almost resemble a semi-formal camellia bloom, and first emerge in spring and then repeat in summer.  The shrub's growth is compact, reaching just 3 feet tall and wide, perfect to plant around a home's foundation, near a doorway, or along a deck or pool where the fragrance can be most enjoyed.

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

Much like Heaven Scent Gardenia, Double Mint is slow growing and tightly branched.  As with most gardenias, I prefer to plant them with some protection from cold winters by planting near a structure. In zones 8 and 9, cold winters are not an issue.  I love the sweet smell of Gardenias so much, I plant them any chance I get.
