Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Azalea, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, or Camellia as they all prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting these varieties.
Autumn Sangria® Encore Azalea
Rhododendron ‘Roblee’ PP15077
Autumn Sangria® Encore Azalea grows fast and gets a little larger than its dwarf Encore buddies. It has hot pink single blooms in spring and again in fall. Occasionally a few blooms will appear during the summer. Its fast growth rate makes it a perfect for foundation planting in front of four foot windows. Autumn Sangria® prefers well drained, slightly acidic soil.
