Azalea x ‘Conlee’ PP#10580

This Encore Azalea is true to its name with three seasons of purple blooms. The Autumn Amethyst® Encore Azalea blooms in the spring, summer and fall. A compact, cold hardy shrub with foliage that also turns a shade of purple in the winter, this plant is disease resistant, heat tolerant and can hold its own in the sun. With heavy single blooms, this is a plant that is sure to delight in containers, small gardens or in mass plantings.

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

All Encores have many uses in the landscape, mainly because they are proficient bloomers and we all love color! When I’m choosing an Encore for a landscape, I usually choose one that will look nice next its surrounding plants as well as any architectural structures that may come into play. All Encore Azaleas have beautiful flowers, I have always loved the purple varieties.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea as they all prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting these varieties.
