Cephalotaxus harringtonia 'Duke Gardens'

A graceful shrub with a spreading, mounded habit. This selection has a very fine texture, with dense, glossy, needle-like foliage that maintains color year-round. In contrast to Densiforma, Duke gardens grows upright and bowl shaped.

Joseph's Take

Yews have been one of my personal favorites for many years. I've always loved the texture, its a fun plant to touch as it's very soft. Like many plants that remind my of pines, its new leaves are much lighter during the spring flush. In NC, I usually plant my Yews with some protection from the hot summers, in northern states this is unnecessary as they really prefer a cooler climate.
