Cephalotaxus harringtonii 'Fritz Huber'

A very versatile and easy cultivar of Japanese plum yew, 'Fritz Huber' grows low, it's a spreading mound of evergreen foliage that is exceptionally colorfast and more tolerant of both shade and sun than other Yews. Deer resistant.

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

Yews have been one of my personal favorites for many years. Fritz Huber is my go to for low growing plantings in shade. I usually plant these in front of shade loving Azaleas or Camellias to add contrasting texture, I made some suggestions below in "Gose Well With".  Fritz Huber also makes a thick cover if planted under a tree canopy.
