Japanses Maples are easy to grow in a sunny spot with space to spread out. A little dappled shade in the afternoon is a good idea in warmer states as the leaves can be stressed in the hottest months of the year.
Dragon Tears Japanese Maple 2-3ft
Acer palmatum 'JN4 Dragon Tears'
Dragon Tear Japanese Maple is an upright dwarf Japanese Maple that has weeping horizontal branching. Its start our red in spring, matures to a deep maroon color by summer and becomes bright orange and red in fall. They are easy to grow and reach a mature height of 8 feet tall and wide at maturity. In planting zones 8 and 9 a little afternoon shade is recommended.
Our Japanese Maples are sold in 2 or 3 gallon pots. They are larger and more mature than a typical one gallon specimen. Since all Japanese Maples are generally slow growing, it is advised to choose a more mature plant when installing into your landscape. If you would like a current photo of any specimen, please send us an email.
