Camellia japonica 'Crimson Candles'

Introducing the Crimson Candles Camellia, a cold-hardy hybrid prized for its distinctive deep red buds that unfurl into delicate rose-pink blooms. This vigorous cultivar produces abundant flowers throughout the season and demonstrates exceptional frost tolerance, making it ideal for colder climates. Reaching 8–12 feet tall and 6–8 feet wide at maturity, its rapid growth habit and dense foliage make it an excellent choice for establishing privacy screens and natural hedgerows with minimal maintenance.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
