Camellia japonica 'April Tryst'

Who doesn't love a spring tryst?  Dr. Clifford Parks is credited for the 'April Tryst' camellia japonica, an average-sized plant of erect habit and excellent form.  The flowers are anemone form with bright red flowers with red and white petaloids.  This camellia features heavy bud set and long period of bloom time, mid to late season (January to April).

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
