The weigela is a shrub from Asia underused in today's gardens. Many people--even in the business--aren't even sure how to pronounce the name! But that will change with the Sonic Bloom Proven Winners series of weigela (say it like, why-gee-la). The Sonic Bloom Weigela series comes in three colors: white, pink, and red. The pink version is--you guessed it--pink--highlighted with a yellow anther. Sonic Bloom Pink Weigela is deer resistant and attracts butterflies. Its arching, loose growth habit looks lovely in a cottage garden. Dark green leaves from spring to fall. It sports very bright pink flowers that re-bloom with little care.
