Camellia japonica 'Romany'


The Romany Camellia displays a bright red, formal double flowers that contrast well with its glossy, dark green foliage. This evergreen reaches a mature height of 6 to 8 feet and a mature width of 4 to 6 feet. Common uses in landscape include hedges, shady foundation beds, cutting garden, woodland garden, mixed borders, privacy screen, specimen, container, or as cut flowers.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
