Hosta, 'Guacamole'

This hosta may have you craving Mexican food when it's all done! The Guacamole hosta sports avocado-green leaves with dark green margins, reaching a mature size of two feet tall and four feet wide. White flowers are highly fragrant. Plant in bright light (but not direct, hot sun) for best color.

Hosta have several edible parts. It is a part of the asparagus family, and is a particularly delicious vegetable seen more in Asianic cuisines than American. Please do your own research, allergy test, and consume at your own risk.

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

Hosta likes a lot of moisture when growing and very little direct sun. I like to plant these in groups and with other types of hosta and some nice shade shrubs.
