Calluna Vulgaris Multicolor

 

Lovely reddish-orange foliage springs forth from this densely branched, carpeting evergreen. Its low spreading habit and ground cover characteristics make it the perfect plant for rock gardens or along paths especially as mass plantings. Lovely purple-pink flowers bloom in abundance throughout the late summer and fall adorning its branches like garlands along the eves of houses. Heather loves the sun but does best in partial shade and this particular variant is hardy from zones 4 through 7.
