Taxus x media 'Densiformis'

The Densiforma Yew is a conifer that blends nicely into the woodland landscape. Since it can tolerate part sun, this plant is a good pairing under a tree or with other upright forming evergreens. Growing 4 to 6 feet, the spreading nature also lends to foundation plantings, hedge, screen or border. This shrub also loves to be sheered once full grown. Its new growth is very light lime green which contrasts well during springtime.

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

Yews have been one of my personal favorites for many years. In my early days I spent some time learning to grow the perfect yew from propagation. It was not so easy as other shrubs but I figured it out. I've always loved the texture, its a fun plant to touch as it's very soft. Like many plants that remind my of pines, its new leaves are much lighter during the spring flush.  In NC, I usually plant my Yews with some protection from the hot summers, in northern states this is unnecessary as they really prefer a cooler climate.
