Camellia japonica 'White by the Gate'

White by the Gate Camellia has numerous large, white formal flowers late winter through spring; complemented by its year round lustrous, glossy, deep-green foliage. In peak bloom, the abundance of buds and flowers almost hide its foliage. White by the Gate grows to be a large specimen, has large formal blooms, and makes a very strong tall hedge in warm locations.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
