The Distylium family of shrubs are relatively new to the market. They have become go to foundation plantings used to replace several problematic shrubs. When I'm talking to my customers, I tell them Distylium can handle shade, sun, dry, wet, good and bad soil. Vintage Jade is the low growing choice if you need something that spreads a lot but only grows 2 feet tall, it's almost a groundcover and looks great with Drift Roses.
Vintage Jade™ Distylium
Distylium 'Vintage Jade' PP23,128
The 'Vintage Jade' Distylium is a member of the Witch Hazel family that boasts dark blue green leaves year round. This evergreen is a great alternative for foundation and border planting. When winter arrives, the Vintage Jade will show off small maroon red flowers for an added burst of color to the dreary season. This distylium spreads more than it mounds, it can be used as a ground cover and can be accented with colorful Drift Roses.
