Acer palmatum 'Summer Gold'


Summer Golds leaves start out Chartreuse yellow with a bright red edge. The leaves mature to solid yellow by the time the seed pods form which are also bright red. A sure site to see each spring. In summer it may need a touch of shade in hot humid climates before it turns bright orange and then red in fall. 


Our Japanese Maples are sold in 2 or 3 gallon pots. They are larger and more mature than a typical one gallon specimen. Since all Japanese Maples are generally slow growing, it is advised to choose a more mature plant when installing into your landscape. If you would like a current photo of any specimen, please send us an email.

Japanses Maples are easy to grow in a sunny spot with space to spread out.  A little dappled shade in the afternoon is a good idea in warmer states as the leaves can be stressed in the hottest months of the year.
