Joseph's Take
Drift Roses are fast growing and spreading and bloom throughout the warm seasons. I usually plant them in mass planting or at least three and I often use a random mixture of blooms in order to create a colorful display. They are easy to grow and need little care except an occasional dead heading. I prefer to give them a very hard trim in late fall after several freezes. Roses and Spirea particularly bloom much better the following season if they hard trimmed in winter.

Since lower spreading plants like the Drift® Rose tend to work better accompanying other larger plants, it is better to plant these in front of taller plants especially since they have a good spread to cover up unsightly empty spots and they add a great color to the landscape. Drift® Roses are great to use on sunny slopes since most slope plants do not look as good as a Drift® Rose.
