Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting Rhododendron as they prefer less watering than you might think. In clay soil we prefer planting with pine bark soil conditioner for Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, Azalea.
PJM Pink Delight Rhododendron
Rhododendron x 'PJM Pink Delight'
Swarmed by a wave of bright pink blooms in the early spring, this compact habited rhododendron maintains its small green foliage year-round, its leaves turn to an interesting dark reddish color during winter months. This one, like its other purple variant, PJM, has incredible tolerances to heat and cold, capable of being grown in zones 4-8. If you are outside of these zones, you can still enjoy its appeal if you maintain special care of them. The best uses for rhododendrons are to be used in border or foundation plantings, specimen, or landscape applications. So long as you have a nice shady place to fill, the PJM Pink Delight Rhododendron is our special recommendation.
