Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight' USPP 12,874

Limelight Hydrangea captivates through remarkable seasonal color progression—dense, cone-shaped panicles emerge in soft pistachio-lime during summer, transition to warm salmon-pink in autumn, and deepen to rich burgundy throughout winter months. Hunter-green foliage provides refined backdrop to this extended chromatic display. Reaching 8 feet tall with a 6-foot spread, its adaptability and multi-season interest make it exceptionally versatile for screening, hedging, container cultivation, cut-flower production, and prominent landscape focal points. This deciduous performer delivers sustained visual impact across all seasons.

For a very long time hydrangeas have been one of my personal favorite plants. I love the leaf texture and the flowers of course. Most people dont know, but hydrangeas usually have amazing fall leaf color and texture either yellow or red before falling off for the winter. During the growing season they love to be watered, so don't hesitate to put on your flip flops on a hot day and give the hydrangea a drink. This fall, I will try to get some photos of their super cool leaves.

Shade hydrangeas prefer moist soil and regular watering during the growing season. For most, in order to obtain the blue flower color, apply 2 tablespoons of aluminum sulfate near the base of the plant. A rusty nail or coffee grounds will also increase the acidity of the soil which makes the flowers turn blue.
