Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Azalea, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, or Camellia as they all prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting these varities.
Gumpo White Azalea
Azalea x 'Gumpo White' (Satsuki hybrid)
The Gumpo White Azalea extends the spring blooming season with its late May thru early June burst of color. Large, trumpet shaped ivory white flowers cover this variety along with small, absinthe green to dark green, glossy foliage. It is a no maintenance azalea that can handle more moisture than most azalea.
