Juniper Procumbens Nana

Procumbens Nana Juniper forms a dense mound of ground-hugging branches that radiate from the center. New growth is bright green turning to bluish green as it matures. A great evergreen for a group planting on a rocky slope. Not pruned, this plant keeps a lovely form and foliage making it a low maintenance addition to those problem areas in your yard.

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

Ground hugging Juniper is a go to plant for sunny hills that you don't want to mow. Once these are planted, I mulch well and keep the weeds out for a year. Then the Procumbens takes off and the hill is secured and maintenance free. It is also a good idea to add in other plants to a large Juniper filled bank to help add color and visual interest. I have a few recommendations below.
