Camellia sasanqua 'Autumn Moon'
This early fall-blooming camellia was probably named after the full moons of harvest time--the double exquisitely intricate white blooms practically glow in the moonlight. Bloom time is approximately October through November, usually as many summer gardens have been snapped by first frost and nature is entering a winter rest. 'Autumn Moon' is a vigorous, upright grower, almost columnar, suitable as a vertical accent, or to fill a large void between windows of a home. Or consider espalier it on a wall that receives dappled sun. Some specimens have reached 13 feet tall, so give this one room to avoid pruning hassle later.
