Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Azalea, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, or Camellia as they all prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting these varieties.
Autumn Ivory® Encore Azalea
Rhododendron ‘Roblev’ PP25046
Azaleas have been a staple in many gardens--especially in the southern states--unless you garden in full sun. But now, thanks to Buddy Lee, the inventor of the Autumn Encore Azalea, we can enjoy all the versatility and beauty of the azalea in a full-sun setting. All Autumn Encore Azaleas happily grow in full sun and bloom twice a year, spring and fall. 'Autumn Ivory®' Encore Azalea is a dwarf shrub with large white blooms unexpected in such a compact shrub. A lovely addition for the front of a border where smaller is better, or in a formal garden where subdued colors are preferred.
