Joseph's Take
Whipcord is new to us this spring. It reminds me of a gold mop cypress but is smaller and of course green instead of yellow. I will be using this one in sunny rock gardens. I think it's going to a big winner for my landscapes.

Looking at the Whipcord arborvitae, you may not guess that it is derived from the Western Red Cedar, a giant forest tree. But from that tree, creative plant masters have brought us a unique, medium-sized, evergreen shrub with gracefully arching foliage which is glossy green in summer, turning slightly bronze in winter. Whipcord would look right at home in a rock garden, or as a specimen plant.
