Picea orientalis 'Skylands' 

 

Skylands Spruce grows very slowly reaching 8-10 feet tall in 10 years, after that its growth rate will increase and the plant will reach an ultimate height near 35 feet. Its bright lime green yellow new growth contrasts with a dark green interior. Skylands prefers a sunny spot in well drained soil. When younger, its yellow foliage will prefer a little afternoon shade during the hottest part of the summer. Gardeners plant this one as a specimen for year round color and architectural interest.
