Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
Purple Haze Camellia

This versatile fall blooming camellia fits into every setting with its lush green foliage year round. During bloom time its reddish purple flowers emerge during October or November depending on the weather. We are not sure if this one was named after a song or not but we will enjoy it anyway!
