Hydrangea arborescens 'NCHA4' PP#28280

The reason for the series name of Incrediball is the fact that these ‘balls’ of flowers get ‘incredibly’ large! (Bigger than your hands, folks!) With stems to match their weight, these hefty blooms show a garden space a pink blush that only gets deeper before eventually fading out of color intensity in the fall, to stand out once again with the lighter shade. Like many hydrangeas, these flowers bloom on new growth, so trimming in the winter will help produce a plethora of those massive blushing blooms to accent your garden against their dark leaves!

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

For a very long time hydrangeas have been one of my personal favorite plants. I love the leaf texture and the flowers of course. Most people dont know, but hydrangeas usually have amazing fall leaf color and texture either yellow or red before falling off for the winter. During the growing season they love to be watered, so don't hesitate to put on your flip flops on a hot day and give the hydrangea a drink. This fall, I will try to get some photos of their super cool leaves.

Most hydrangea prefer lots of water during the growing season in order to produce the best looking flowers.
