Joseph's Take
The Head over Heels series has larger flowers. They are perennial and can be trimmed to the ground after each season.
Not sure if “adore” is used as a verb here, or if it’s meant to be said with an Italian flair (think Sinatra’s “That’s Amore”). In addition, now that the 80’s song by the Go-Go’s is permanently stuck in your mind (you’re welcome), the Head Over Heels Adore Hibiscus is unique for reasons beyond its name. First of all, this herbaceous perennial spends the long dark winter nights planning the ultimate surprise party for its admirers, because once warm weather returns, it knocks everyone out with its deep pink flowers that measure ten (that’s 10!) inches across. That’s like a tiny pizza or a very large cookie, people. The second unique thing about this hibiscus is its leaves are not the regular green usually seen in Rose of Sharon---these leaves are burgundy! That’s dark purplish red in fancy color words. This full sun deciduous beauty would look great adorning a poolside or as an unexpected accent in a mixed border. Take a trip to the tropics but stay at home with the Head Over Heels Adore Hibiscus! That’s Adore!
