Hydrangea macrophylla 'H2002' Miss Saori pp#26657

Featured as the plant of the year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2014, ‘Miss Saori’ Hydrangea was originally cultivated by a Mr. Irie, a hybridizer from Japan! Driven by his profound devotion to hydrangeas, he experimented by cross pollination which involved crossing different hydrangea species together to eventually develop this variegated beauty. This special cultivation has many similarities to what we have to offer on our website, although there exists several notable differences that really distinguish this particular hydrangea from the rest. Growing respectably throughout the USA in zones 5-10 and reaching heights at and around 3 ft with solid integrity, this deciduous species features profuse tiered and mounded blooms offering delightful rosy-pink edged white petals throughout its entire blooming season. What is also worth mentioning is its dark foliage that marginally transitions during the changing seasons from a ruby in the spring to a burgundy in the fall. Inheriting another useful characteristic of blooming on both old and new wood, pruning this shrub welcomes new growth and encourages blooming of healthy buds. Lastly, Hydrangeas like every plant we offer come back every year even more vibrant than the last meaning that you can expect to enjoy Miss Saori year after year.
