Hydrangea macrophylla 'SMHMES14' USPP 25836

Proven Winners has created the perfect hydrangea for every shade garden with the Let's Dance hydrangea series. Whether you need an extremely dwarf hydrangea or a medium sized one, you can find it with these blue beauties.  Let's Dance® Rhythmic Blue® hydrangea is the largest in the series, maturing to a size of three to four feet tall and wide.  The flowers sport a unique geometric shape, so when this one blooms, it's a real treat! Like the others in the Let's Dance series, Rhythmic Blues hydrangea blooms on old and new wood, and may be trimmed after early summer flowering. Flower color can be changed by altering the pH of the soil.  Add aluminum sulfate to the soil to encourage blue flower color.  Developed in Michigan, the Rhythmic Blues® hydrangea has superior cold performance.

Please note that we offer Rhythmic Blue in a starter quart pot or a 3 gallon pot. Starter plants are not suitable to be planted directly in native soil. They require additional growth in a planter in order to be strong enough to survive planting in native soil. Please consider growing your starter plants in the same soil conditioner that we grow our plants with, it's available on the cart page. Additionally, view our blog on "How to Take Care of Quart Sized Plants" by clicking on the link here:

Shade hydrangeas prefer moist soil and regular watering during the growing season. For most, in order to obtain the blue flower color, apply 2 tablespoons of aluminum sulfate near the base of the plant. A rusty nail or coffee grounds will also increase the acidity of the soil which makes the flowers turn blue.
