Thuja occidentalis 'Smaragd'

Are you tired of looking at your neighbor's camper from your back patio or you need some kind of natural barrier between you and the house next door but can't build a fence? Consider the Emerald Green Arborvitae. The Emerald Green Arborvitae is one of the more popular cultivars of the Thuja occidentalis species. This cultivar is also known as 'Smargd' (Danish for emerald) because it was originally developed in Denmark.  So thank you, Danes, for this excellent tree, perfect to use as an evergreen screen or as a vertical accent in the landscape. Emerald Green has a narrow pyramidal shape, reaching between 7 and 15 feet tall (not monstrous) and up to 5 feet wide. Its bright glossy foliage stays green all year and is a fast grower when planted in full sun.
