Joseph's Take
Long Island Pink Camellia is one of my favorite fall bloomers not because of it flower, but because of it's vigerous growth rate. It grows much faster than the pupular Yultide and its leaf structure is just as dense. Remember, all fall blooming camellias can grow in much more sunnier conditions than their spring blooming friends.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
