Camellia Japonica 'Fire Falls'
Brilliant red, peony-form blooms distinguish this camellia variety, flowering prolifically from winter into spring against a backdrop of rich, glossy deep-green foliage that remains ornamental year-round. Fire Falls matures to 8–10 feet in height with a 6–8 foot spread, making it an excellent specimen for layered garden compositions. Pair with Professor Sargent Camellia for complementary seasonal interest and structural balance.
Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
