Marmorata Variegated Aucuba – 3 gallon container

Marmorata Variegated Aucuba display large green leaves marbled with golden yellow and give way to small purple blooms come spring that are rather insignificant in comparison to its foliage that grabs all attention from the eye. This shade lover reaches a mature height of 7 feet and a width of 6 feet. Uses include any hard to grow area in the landscape that doesn’t get a lot of sun, accent, background, container, focal point, foundation, frame structure, hedge, landscape bed, shrub border, small group, woodland garden, and any large grass-less areas in the landscape.

Joseph’s take: Aucuba is another plant that I remember growing up at my grandmothers house.  The most useful aspect I’ve noticed with Aucuba is that it can survive and thrive in the most shady environment, for example, under a deck.  The newer yellow Aucuba’s are nice to mix with the older greener ones.
