Camellia sasanqua 'Kanjiro'

Kanjiro Camellia is stunning with red edged semi-double blooms variegate to cherry pink and gold stamens and a slight fragrance. Bloom fall through winter, these plants are sometimes referred to as Christmas Camellias. 'Sasanqua' varieties of Camellia are native to the evergreen, coastal forests of southern Japan. Fall and winter blooming camellias can grow in sun or shade.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
