Azalea x 'Gumpo Pink' (Satsuki hybrid)

The Gumpo Pink Azalea is an evergreen shrub that breaks the mold of other azaleas. This late May spring bloomer yields lush glossy foliage and numerous gorgeous large, funnel-shaped cotton candy pink, ruffled flowers. This dwarf variety reaches a mature height and width of two to three feet and can handle being planted in moist soil unlike most azalea.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Azalea, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, or Camellia as they all prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting these varities.
