Double Play® Candy Corn™ Spirea – 3 gallon container

Welcome to an ever changing display of color. The Candy Corn Spirea will entertain your eyes with three seasons of color. Early spring brings candy apple red new foliage, as it matures it fades into yellow and late in the season new foliage emerges as an orange red ever keeping you on your toes. Late spring/early summer, beautiful deep purple blooms appear and you have a display you truly have to see for yourself. This prismatic deciduous gem reaches a mature height of one and a half to two feet and a width of one and a half to two and a half feet. Uses include border, edging, mass planting, focal, specimen, foundation, accent, or sits beautifully around water gardens or ponds.

Joseph’s take:  Candy Corn Spirea is the best of a group of yellow foliage Spirea that impresses with its brightness and variation from bright yellow to orange.  I especially like to use yellow Spirea as an accent in front of dark green evergreens.  All Spirea plant prefer a hard trim during the winter months in order to show their best colors the following spring.  They love lots of sun and are not water hungry.  Spirea is very cold hardy which makes them great for northern states.
