Camellia japonica 'Crimson Candles'

Crimson Candles Camellia displays a unique candle shaped reddish bud that opens to a small to medium sized, single rose pink flower. It has numerous blooms on each plant. A notable characteristic for the Crimson Candles is its cold hardiness as it's buds tolerate heavy frost. This hybrid reaches a mature height of 8 to 12 feet and a mature width of 6 to 8 feet and is best as a privacy screen due to it's fast growth rate.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
