Rosa 'CHEWGEWEST' PP 31,005
After passing five years of plant trials (sounds intimidating!), the Sunorita Rose from Proven Winners was introduced to better garden centers in 2019. Aptly named, the Sunorita's blooms have all the colors of an evening sunset: red-orange on the outside, soft orange on the inside, fading to light yellow with age. When planted in full sun, this sturdy, moderately-sized shrub has deep green foliage that shows excellent resistance to powdery mildew and black spot. Prune in early spring when the new growth begins, but deadheading is not necessary for repeat bloom. Plant in drifts for a bold swath of color in a large area, or group against the green backdrop of distylium or Rhododendron to add a cheery splash of sunny color.
