Camellia X  'Spring Awakening'

Camellia Spring Awakening have numerous small, double, pink flowers winter through spring; complemented by its year round lustrous, glossy, deep-green foliage. In peak bloom, the abundance of buds and flowers almost hide its foliage. Spring Awakening reaches a mature height of 6 to 7 feet and a mature width of 3 to 4 feet.

Joseph's Take

Once I saw a very large Spring Awakening Camellia blooming in Atlanta. Very nice. This Camellia will grow larger than some and will like shade in the afternoon.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.
