Cryptomeria japonica 'Spiralis'
Spiral Japanese Cedar, also known as Granny’s Ringlets, is actually a member of the Cryptomeria family. Light green needles spiral around the branches and form twisted ropes that resemble ringlets of hair. When young, the Spiral Cedar is globe-shaped, but as it matures, it develops a central leader and adopts an upright habit. A semi-dwarf conifer, maturing to 10 feet tall and 8 feet wide, suitable for a small garden or large container.
