Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia as they prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea.

Pink Icicle Camellia is an evergreen that is a cold tolerant to zone 6, it has deep green foliage and a beautifully shade of pink blooms with a yellow center, it's flowers are huge. It grows to a mature height of 10 feet and a width of 6 feet. A good choice for areas with a cold winter.
Teas/tisanes can be made from all camellias, for varied flavored results depending on the variety and processing methods used--some cultivars have caffeine, while some do not.
