Cotinus coggygria 'NCCO1' USPP 30,216; CBRAF

Novel, robust, and beautiful. Sporting the classic appeal of a smokebush while featuring a broad display of vibrant colors that will bring you a unique, dense wall of foliage. Being one of the more manageable and easy-growing smokebushes, Old Fashioned Smokebush grows to be a nice six foot speciman. It is incredibly resilient to both cold and warm zones capable of growing in zones 4-9 (just about the entire country). What really sets this smokebush apart is its soft color changing oval- shaped leaves. They start out as a deep reddish purple that later matures into a luscious green wall of spiraling foliage. Its carnine-red stems are adorned with light yellow flowers in the spring which turn into smoky plumes in the summer. The real magic of this bush happens during the fall when it sets itself ablaze with flame colored shades throughout.
