Camellia sasanqua 'Green 98-009' PP20506

Clusters of these rose-like pink double flowers on this upright camellia make for an easily tended fall bloomer. Growing between 6 and 8 feet tall, this camellia can provide some privacy if planted in a border/hedge. Almost full sun with a bit of shade is the best option for this densely growing camellia. With the dark green evergreen foliage, this bloomer is a year-round choice. While it doesn’t need much if any pruning, this camellia can take shaping if clipped before their first flush of growth appears in early spring.

Remember that all fall blooming or Camellia sasanqua can grow in either sun or shade while the spring blooming Camellia japonica needs at least afternoon shade.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea as they all prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting these varities.
