Camellia sasanqua 'Green 03-016' PP27334

The Pink Perplexion, not to be mixed up with the Pink Perfection Camellia which can get up to 10 ft tall, the Perplexion grows to a modest 5 ft by 5ft size, with the smaller camellia leaves that the sasanqua species is known for. The new growth is a slightly lighter green, and the plant has an overall graceful feel for a shrub that fills into a compact form. The formal pink blooms in the fall only add to the evergreen magic! Best in zones 7 through 9, this camellia is one to add to your garden beds.

Remember that all fall blooming or Camellia sasanqua can grow in either sun or shade while the spring blooming Camellia japonica needs at least afternoon shade.

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea as they all prefer fall planting with less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting these varities.
